January 19, 2017; January 26, 2017; February 2, 2017, February 9, 2017, February 16, 2017 and a scheduled snow date of February 23, 2017 if needed.
  ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE PRE-REGISTERED by Friday, January 13, 2017  MAY ATTEND THESE CLASSES.

Each of the five sessions will be held from 6:00 PM sharp to 9:00 PM.

Face to face classes consist of five sessions.  Each of the five sessions will be held from 6:00 PM sharp to 9:00 PM.

This course is designed to help you learn about obtaining a mortgage, your credit, preparing for your down payment, getting ready to buy a house, working with your team of professionals, how to find “YOUR” house and how to find the best deal for you.

The cost to participants is $50.00 per person (household) or co-residing couple for this course.

Upon completion of the five workshop sessions and submission of required assignments, attendees will be awarded First Time Home buyer certificates. (CSN is approved by HUD as a housing counseling agency-certificate qualifies for some financial product options.  CSN is a CHAPA Seal of Approval recipient.)

Participants must be preregistered for the class.  (click on homebuyer registration form below at the very bottom of the page-form is removed when the class is full.) Classes are limited to 20-25 participants (based on location size) on a first come first served basis.

Online First-Time Home Buyer Course
(Hybrid Course-Online Modules plus 1 face to face meeting required)

If you are in process of obtaining a loan to purchase your first home, and you are unable to participate in one of our in-person First Time Home Buyer classes, CSN offers an online hybrid version of the First Time Homebuyer Course. (The online portion does not work well on a smart phone or tablet as it is too large and takes too long to buffer causing the program to crash and not work.  Needs to be completed on a desk top or laptop computer.This is an approved Masshousing and a Citizens’ Housing And Planning Association (CHAPA) course.

This class consists of 6 modules (319 slides,) each with its own quiz and a final assessment that must be passed with a score of 80% or above. Once finished with all six modules and the assessment, participants must participate in an exit interview (plan for up to 3 hours for either single family or condo depending upon question and plan on up to 4 hours for multi-family depending upon question) with one of CSN's First-Time Home Buyer Counselors (typically face to face appointments consist of one household but it may be necessary due to volume of need to have 2 or 3 households participating in the face to face appointments together) at the CSN's offices.  (CSN's office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm)  It can take up to a week or two from when you complete the online component to complete the face to face component please plan accordingly.

This course costs $100 per person or per couple/household (2 adults) registering together for single family or condo.

Purchasing a 2 or 3 family home ....You can add an additional certification for multi-family homes for an additional $25 per person or per couple/household (2 adults) registering together. (Also, plan on an additional hour for your face to face appointment-plan for 4 hours)
